The Year 8 Italian Showcase which took place last November, was recently spotlighted in the Education section of the Italian-Australian newspaper, Il Globo. It was a captivating journey into language and culture, designed to enhance students' self confidence and motivation:
Virtual Supermercato: Navigating virtual Italian grocery aisles, students tested their knowledge on food related items from Semester 2
Celebrity Heads in Italian: Engaging in a lively game, students brainstormed questions on food, animals and clothing, fostering language skills and creativity
Schiena Contro Schiena: This activity promoted communication and visualisation skills as one student described a picture while the other sketched without seeing it
Mini Clip Projection: The Showcase concluded with a presentation of students' works (Italian Corti style videos), featuring humorous clips like Dal Dottore and La sfilata di moda
The Year 8s emerged from the event with a profound sense of accomplishment, fostering a newfound appreciation for the Italian language and culture at Siena College.
